Summer Associate Responsibilities
The primary objectives for Investment Banking Associates at Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co. are to gain experience, judgment and maturity necessary to assume a leadership role in managing projects and in marketing the firm’s services effectively, while acting as carriers for the firm’s culture. Associates generally manage day-to-day activities of a given project, identifying tasks, scheduling priorities and taking responsibility for the finished product.
The purpose of the Summer Associate program is to provide students with a true investment banking experience, while testing the individual’s ability to handle a high stress environment, play a significant role in a number of time-sensitive projects, positively represent the firm and support the firm’s culture. As a Summer Associate, students can expect to gain exposure to difficult assignments with significant responsibility, play a role in written and oral presentations and perform considerable quantitative work.

The TPH Difference
Deal teams at TPH are small, enabling Associates to have a meaningful role in their projects and gain direct exposure to clients and senior bankers across the firm. A typical deal team is comprised of a Managing Director, Vice President, Associate, Analyst and associated support staff. This model enables our Summer Associates to gain broad experience during the course of the 10 week internship program. Summer Associates are encouraged to recognize and evaluate the nuances of each transaction, leading to a well-rounded, highly quantitative skill set. Summer Associates are expected to take on an outsized level of responsibility and can expect early and high level interaction with clients and their senior management teams.
